According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center, Wisconsin is home to 10 of America’s 52 coldest cities in the winter.
Just in case you were not aware, here’s a news flash – it gets pretty cold in Wisconsin. Of course, if you are a fan of the National Football League and have seen some Green Bay Packer games in the winter, you already know all about it. They even refer to their stadium as the “Frozen Tundra.”
USA Today compiled a list of some of the coldest cities in America, and Wisconsin took home the most mentions. A total of ten Wisconsin cities made the list. However, Iowa was not far behind. They have eight and right after Iowa is Minnesota with six.
But if you are looking for the coldest cities, you won’t find them in any of those three states. The two coldest cities in the country are Barrow and Fairbanks, which are both located in Alaska, naturally.
