4. Late retirement age

The age at which the average person in England retires has been going up when compared to other European countries. Statistics gathered by the Office for National Statistics in England suggest that the average retirement age increased from 63.8 to 64.6 for men during the period of 2006 to 2010. For women, average ages rose from 61.2 to 62.3 years. Americans, on the other hand, have an average retirement age of 61.
