Top 21 Small Cities In Pennsylvania

2. Murrysville

Murrysville is a safe city, according to the latest research, 87.52% safer than average for the state in violent crimes. In 2010 there were only 9 violent crimes and a total of 96 crimes altogether for the entire city, which is impressive when you look at just about any other city in the country.

This is a very educated city as well. According to City Data, 46.1% of the population over the age of 25 has at least a bachelor’s degree and 18.5% have a graduate degree. While part of this data may be due to the fact that the city only has about 20,000 residents in its 36.9 square miles, it is still nice to know that your neighbors are educated and can hold a meaningful conversation.

When it comes to education, the city website states that “Murrysville, the neighboring community of Export, and parts of Delmont are served by Franklin Regional School District. The Franklin Regional School District operates five schools: three elementary (Sloan, Heritage, Newlonsburg), the Franklin Regional Middle School, and the Franklin Regional High School.
