The biggest Beatles lovers gathering – The Fest For Beatles Fans – is once again taking place in New York, and this time, it is going to be held at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, New York, from March 20-22. For three days, it will be the biggest, and most spectacular, gathering of Beatles fans in the world.
It is a festival with a long history, the first of these being held in 1974, organized by Mark Lapidos and supported by the members of the Beatles, who have been donating a piece of their equipment to charity every year. Over the years, the Beatlefest, as it was also called, hosted numerous special guests, from Pete Best, Donovan, Mark Hudson, Billy Preston, Sid Bernstein to Robert Freeman and many others who were in some way connected to the Liverpool Four.
This year, like every year, the Fest is going to feature innumerable events, gigs and activities for the fans of the most important band of all times and the events will be taking place in 15 different ballrooms at the hotel.
On Friday, a number of guest authors will be talking about the Beatles; a dance party will be held, as well as look-alike contests and dress up contests. The highlight of the day will be the gig by Liverpool, the finest Beatles tribute band in the world.
On Saturday, visitors will also be able to listen to a number of special guests; attend the sound-alike contest finals, the Beatles Auction, a number of concerts and a charity raffle drawing. Once again, Liverpool will be playing, this time accompanied by a number of guests. Also, the 4th Annual Beatles Parade is scheduled for Saturday.
The last day of the Fest will feature the Battle of the Beatles Bands, a plethora of guest speakers and special guests who will share their stories of the Beatles. Liverpool will play their Grand Finale concert and the winner of the Beatles Love Cirque du Soleil Sweeps will be announced.
Trust us when we tell you that this is just scratching the surface.
