There are still a few weeks before it kicks off on September 18, but we wanted to make sure that all jazz fans get the chance to make the arrangements and get their tickets. Of course, we are talking about the most renowned and – if we’re being honest – best jazz festival in the United States, the Monterey Jazz Festival.
The festival has been organized annually since 1958 and pretty much all of the biggest names in jazz music have graced the stages. People like Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and everyone else who ever mattered in jazz music.
Like every year, The 58th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival will be taking place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, with 8 stages of 2 days and 3 nights of non-stop jazz music. Of course, that will not be all that you will see at the festival, as there will be plenty of movie projections, conversations with the stars, exhibitions and much more.
Some of the names that you will be able to see at Monterey this year include: Chick Corea, Russell Malone, Ravi Coltrane, Christian McBride, Kyle Eastwood, Trombone Shorty, Gerald Clayton and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra featuring Wynton Marsalis, just to name a few.
