The residents of a city in Pennsylvania are having a hard time coping with a certain smell that seems to be constantly in the air. According to the people who live in New Castle, the city constantly smells like cat urine. The biggest problem is that officials, scientists, and everyone else investigating the case have no idea where the smell is coming from. The smell is most prominent by a local sewage treatment plan, but still, no one can confirm whether something that is going on in that plant is causing this peculiar odor to linger.
The good news, if you can call it good news, is that the smell is probably not harmful. It just stinks. According to state environmental protection officials, no hazardous substances have been detected in the city’s air.
