20. Geneva Community High School

And the best high school in Illinois is, without a single doubt, Geneva Community High School, located in Geneva, a western suburb of Chicago. It goes without saying that it is also one of the highest ranked schools in the country, belonging to the top 5% of U.S. schools.

The prestigious school was founded way back in 1876 and the very first graduating class consisted of only two students. Over time, Geneva Community has established itself as the leading high school in the state, and there are numerous reasons why it is regarded as such.

For instance, over 99% of the 2010 senior class graduated from Geneva and continued their education at some of the country’s top colleges. Speaking of numbers, Geneva Community High School did not only have an average composite ACT score of 24.2 in 2010, but also had 106 Illinois State Scholars.

As far as extra-curricular opportunities are concerned, the school is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers a wide variety of activities that are bound to suit the taste and needs of every single student.
